Mizuho Americas Joins ICE Clear Credit as Clearing Member to Enhance CDS Market Capabilities
Mizuho Americas, through its security-based swap dealer Mizuho Capital Markets LLC, has become a clearing member at ICE Clear Credit, Intercontinental Exchange's leading clearinghouse for credit default swaps. The MOVE aims to streamline capital and risk management while expanding Mizuho's footprint in the global credit derivatives market.
"Central clearing represents a strategic leap for our CDS portfolios," said Natalya Rasmussen, Mizuho Americas' Fixed Income COO. The partnership grants access to ICE's robust Single Name and Index CDS clearing solutions, covering major North American and European corporate indices.
ICE Clear Credit President Stan Ivanov emphasized the addition strengthens their position as the CDS market evolves. The clearinghouse's mark-to-market services and risk management framework now support another global financial institution's derivatives operations.
